AM460 Series control valve offers pressure balanced cage guided trim and balance ring tight shut-off module, Compared with AM220,AM230,AM240 series unbalanced single seat control valves, it improves dynamic stability and higher pressure drops. It is a high performance kind of control valve. control and throttling service of high pressure gases and clean liquids, exceeds the capabilities of regular valves
Cage Guided—Cage-guided trim provides valve plug guiding, seat ring retention, and flow characteristic. The trim increases valve stability and life.
Higher Allowable Pressure Drops—AM460 Series control valves provide exceptional and dependable performance over a wide range of pressure drops typical of severe services.
Greater Capacity with Low Recovery—AM460 Series control valves have the highest capacities o f contemporary cage type globe valve. These unusually high capacities are attained with minimum pressure recovery, as indicated by high critical flow (FL) factors.
Hardened Trim— For applications requiring trim with superior wear resistance. The complete range is offered in two levels of hardened trims
*Partial Stellite is an overlay on the plug and seat ring surface.
*Full Stellite is an overlay on the complete plug contour, seat ring, plug seating surface and seat ring bore.
Versatile Trim Solutions—Various noise attenuation, anti-cavitation, and tight shut-off solutions are available within the standard AM460 product series.
*Globe valve with pneumatic actuator.
*Valve body optionally made of cast steel, forged steel, stainless steel and high-alloy steels or special materials.
*Valve plug with meta or softl sealing.

Fail-safe positions
Depending on how the compression springs are arranged in the actuator, the control valve has two different fail-safe positions which become effective upon supply air failure:
Actuator stem extends (FC)
The actuator springs close the valve when the supply air failure. Also as air to open.
Actuator stem retracts (FO)
The actuator springs open the valve when the supply air failure. Also as air to close.
